Wanax refers to the ruler of a Mycenaean palace which was involved in religious, military and economic power in the late 13th century BCE.
Linear B renders the oldest Greek dialect, Mycenaean. The text was written over a period of 200 years from c.1420 BCE to c.1180 BCE. This script shares many similarities with its predecessor Linear A such as the ideograms and ciphers used. Linear B has ~200 signs split into 87 syllabic signs and over 100 ideographic signs.
